The back is labeled simply “Edward Betz” and there is no date. We can confidently identify the child as Edward M. Betz, first-born son of Edward R. and Lena Betz, based on features and the name. That allows us to assign a date sometime in 1903 or 1904 at latest, based his apparent age of two or three years.
