Back Ache - 1 qt of Rye Whiskey pure 2 cts cinnamon Bark 2 grated Nutmegs 12 cloves with the seed on 5 cts Rock Candy Take the onion of the White Joseph Lilly dry it in the oven and pulverize it mix with the other and let it stand about 24 hours before using. Gingerbead 3 cups light brown sugar 1/2 cup of lard + butter mixed 1/2 cup of Molasses 1 egg. 3 cups of buttermilk. 1 heaping teaspoon baking soda spices to suit taste flour to stiffen like cake dough Vienna Rolls Put in a bowl 1 qt. of unsifted flour 2 heaping teaspoons of baking powder sift 3 times add a tablespoon of butter and rub flour and butter well through the hands Into 3/4 pint of milk dissolve 1 tablespoon of Salt and then stir into the flour with a spoon knead lightly roll out 1/2 inch thick cut them with a large round cutter fold over + brush top with milk to give them a gloss Bake in hot oven 20 minutes (Excellent)
